The 2001 User Group Meeting was another successful gathering in Milwaukee.
This year's meeting was held from August 15-17. Several changes
took place for the 2001 meeting, including it's location.
This year's meeting would take place in the splendor of the 1920's
Hilton Hotel.
Additionally, two new features were added to the User Group Meeting.
A Wednesday afternoon session was held at the Quasar*Systems' office.
This session was primarily for new users, or those wishing to have
a review of the system before the in-depth hands-on session commenced.
On Friday afternoon, the attendees were invited to participate in
smaller discussion groups that replaced the User Roundtable.
These discussions allotted the attendees to gain knowledgeable insight
from their counterparts at different companies. When individuals
were not scheduled to be in a discussion group, a client liaison
conference was held to discuss any issues that the attendees felt
were important to their company.

Items of Interest:
The 2001 Hands-on session included the billing and valuation cycle,
and exercises concerning the running, viewing, analyzing, and editing
of the extracts and trailers. Special processing and setting
up/coding a treaty amendment were also covered.
Presented on Thursday afternoon and Friday morning was the importance
of the Configuration File, test areas, and cycle testing
Roundtable Discussion Groups: Small discussion groups were
attended by clients and reinsurers about various topics. Several
attendees were brave enough to lead to moderate these discussions.
It was our intent that attendees could discuss the system with other
users and to go home with new ideas about how the R² system can
be further implemented in the work environment.
Attendees were given the opportunity to discuss issues and concerns
with their client liaison in a one-on-one conference.
