User Group 2007 began with the untimely death of Polly See (Laura Lowry), just after walking into the office of Sham Suede, hoping to find out who poisoned her.
Sham was joined by a host of detectives from far and wide, to help him with other mysteries in the system.
Distressed by Polly's untimely death, Sham decided to pump the system for information, starting with Thwart the Error Report (Dan Gapinski), a fault-finding repository of all things problematic. Sham had no info, which turned out to be a clue in and of itself.
Sham's fellow detectives bended minds like the proverbial spoon to smooth out other system problems.
It seemed like a dark day in the public life, but as enough holes in a tent's rooftop cannot hold the darkness in any longer, so also the problems became shrinking shadows.
By a fall of dumb luck, Sham happened upon Mac the Extract (Kim Williams), who relayed Polly's death status.
Not exactly news, but it did point him in the direction of Face the Policy Database (Darlene Kosonic), who mentioned that while her death was untimely, she was supposed to convert to annual renewable term today.
Used to sniffing out trouble, Sham smelled nothing but sabotage.
Marching straight into the office of Lynch Pin the Admin System (Jim Schoen), Sham accused Lynch of killing Polly with a typo.
A status 6 instead of 7 - feed it into the reinsurance system and people drop off the cliff of life like a stone. Threatening the buzz of the fuzz, Sham got Lynch to change it back, thus reviving Polly an hour later.
In their own manner of resurrectng, the rest of the detectives solved enough trouble to make smooth running systems once again.
New life never felt so good, as could only be celebrated with a little reinsurance trivia to relieve a day's worth or reinsurance admin troubleshooting.
We'd like to thank everyone for coming to User Group 2007, and hope to see you again in 2008!
